AI Equity Research Analyst (Working Student)

Hamburg, Germany Fully Remote or Hamburg Part-time Student

About the Role

We are looking for a working student (Werkstudent) to join Gradient Technologies. This is a hybrid role combining equity research and business development — you will work part-time alongside your studies, conducting in-depth analysis of publicly listed stocks while also supporting our go-to-market efforts.

Your core focus: understanding individual companies at a deep level — their financials, competitive position, catalysts, and valuation. You will be at the intersection of traditional equity research and AI-powered analysis.

What You Will Do

Equity Research

  • Conduct fundamental analysis of individual publicly listed stocks — financials, business models, competitive dynamics, and valuation
  • Analyze earnings reports, annual filings, investor presentations, and earnings calls
  • Build and maintain valuation models (DCF, comparable multiples, sum-of-the-parts)
  • Support the development and validation of our AI-driven equity analysis systems by providing domain expertise and quality checks
  • Prepare structured research summaries and investment theses
  • Monitor portfolio holdings and flag material developments

General Support

  • Assist with day-to-day operational and management tasks
  • Conduct market research on industry trends and the competitive landscape
  • Help prepare investor presentations and pitch materials
  • Support internal documentation and reporting

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a degree programme (Finance, Business, Economics, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of individual stock analysis and fundamental research — this is the core of the role
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, key metrics, and valuation methodologies
  • Genuine passion for financial markets and investing
  • Interest in how AI and machine learning can enhance equity research
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time
  • Strong communication skills in both English and German
  • Available for at least 16 hours per week during the semester

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python for financial data analysis
  • Knowledge of quantitative methods or financial modelling
  • CFA preparation or similar qualifications
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, FactSet, or similar platforms
  • Prior internship or project experience in equity research or asset management

What We Offer

  • Competitive student salary: Fair pay commensurate with experience
  • Flexible hours: Schedule that fits around your lectures and exams
  • Flexible location: Fully remote or based in Hamburg — your choice
  • Real responsibility: You own tasks end-to-end, not just tickets
  • Direct founder access: Work closely with Pablo and Jan from day one
  • Growth trajectory: Strong working students are first in line when full roles open up
